Rev. Monique Summers received her licensed to preach in the African Methodist Episcopal Church in 2003 at the fourth quarterly conference, from the now Retired Presiding Elder, Rev. W. M. Boddie. After completing the first and second year studies, on September 25th 2005, Summers was ordained as an Itinerant Deacon in the AME Church under Bishop T. Larry Kirkland, and on September 30th 2007 having completed the required coursework for third and fourth year studies, Bishop Kirkland also ordained Rev. Summers as an Itinerant Elder in the AME Church.
In addition, Summers has completed theological studies at Beacon University located in Columbus, Georgia where she was pursuing a Master of Divinity Degree. Having completed several classes at Beacon including Survey of the Old Testament, Survey of the New Testament, Lexical Greek, Hermenuetics, and Homiletics, Rev Summers plans to complete her master’s degree at the Interdenominational Theological Center also know as ITC in Atlanta Georgia. Summers received her Associates Degree from Southern Union State Community College and Bachelor of Science Degree from Jacksonville State University.
Rev. Summers is the daughter of the late Mrs. Arrie “Lucy” Snow and the late Mr. Frankie McCauley. She is the wife of Mr. Perry S. Summers, and the step-mother of four children: Tiffany, Perry, Michael, and Sharika. Rev. Summers and her husband, Mr. Perry S. Summers reside in West Point, Georgia.
